Types of Boats
Boats come in various sizes and shapes, just like your cars and bikes. It can be a basic vessel to carry you safely across the water or even a luxurious indulgence. There are different types of boats, each serving its own purpose. Owning a boat can make one stand apart from the crowd as not everyone owns a boat.
Boats can be categorized into three main types: unpowered, powered by wind, and powered by other means. Unpowered craft include rafts meant for one-way downstream travel. Powered boats include canoes, kayaks, gondolas, and boats propelled by poles like a punt.
A sailboat, propelled mainly by means of sails. A motorboat is propelled by mechanical means, such as engines. A number of large vessels are traditionally called boats, but can also refer to those small enough to be carried by one person.
